I’m Maria Janelli. I launched Baker Street Learning in 2020 to partner with organizations using digital media to deepen learning and enhance organizational impact.

I bring more than two decades of experience across learning design, research, operations, and nonprofit leadership. Most recently, I served as Chief of Staff and Head of Impact at the Scratch Foundation, helping secure more than $42 million in funding while overseeing research, programs, operations, and board governance. Earlier in my career, I directed online teacher education at the American Museum of Natural History and built educational software at Columbia University.

My Ph.D. in Educational Psychology enables me to turn complex data into compelling stories about how people think, learn, and behave.

I believe that connecting with others through conversation and good work is more important now than ever before.

    Dr. Margaret Honey’s work has helped shape the field's thinking on learning and technology, with particular attention to traditionally underserved audiences.

  • Anastasiya A. Lipnevich

    Dr. Lipnevich is the Inaugural Visiting Scholar in Formative Assessment at NBME and a Professor of Educational Psychology at Queens College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her research spans instructional feedback, formative assessment, and the role of psychosocial characteristics in academic and life achievement.

  • Michael Preston

    Dr. Michael Preston is the Executive Director of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, a leader at the intersection of technology, media, and children's learning, with more than twenty years of experience in educational technology at the local and national level.
